Instruction for Authors

Administrators, practitioners, researchers, policy makers as well as several kinds of organizations, institutions and groups involved in Movement and Health topics with particular focus on children and adolescents from all over the world are kindly called to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations that address one of the conference themes.

The submitted abstract must be presented at the conference by one of the author. The abstracts, completed in accordance with the guidelines, must be submitted by February 15, 2014. Abstracts received after this deadline will not be considered.

Only abstracts by authors fully registered by April 15, 2014 will be published.

Depending on the number of abstracts accepted, the time allowed for the oral presentations will be 15 minutes, including the 5 minutes of discussion.

Posters should be clearly legible from a distance of 2 meters and structured according to the general abstract guidelines. The maximum size for each poster is 90 cm (width) x 120 cm (height). Authors will be required to present their poster during the congress, according to a schedule to be established.

The Scientific Committee will give notice on selected presentations as of March 15, 2014. The Committee will determine the type of presentation (oral or poster).

 Oral presentation

You will have 15 minutes total, including question and answer time for your oral presentation. Your presentation should be 10 minutes, with 2-3 minutes of question and answer time and 2-3 minutes to switch presenters. Please respect this when planning your presentation, and help us keep the time schedule.

Create your presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. If you can, please email your slides by May 25, 2014.  Also bring a copy to Olomouc on a flash drive as a backup. When you check in at the conference, the techs will transfer your presentation to a conference computer (if it has not already been uploaded) and will ensure that it is transferred to the computer that will be used in your presentation.

Poster presentation

Poster presenters are expected to bring their original posters in print for display at the meeting and to arrange for handouts. A book of abstracts will be available at the conference.

Standard poster size is 90cm wide and 120 cm tall. Maximum poster size allowable is 120x150cm. Please note that the posters are in a vertical format, NOT horizontal/landscape like traditional US posters. Pins to fix the poster on the stand will be made available.

Guidelines for abstract preparation

Abstracts must be submitted online. Please read these guidelines carefully before writing the abstract. Abstract guidelines are same for oral and poster presentations.

General information

The Conference Secretariat must receive all abstracts by 15 February, 2014.

The receipt of your abstract submission will be confirmed by email.

All contents are in sole responsibility of the author(s) of the abstract.

All abstracts will be rated by two independent reviewers who will make recommendation regarding the type of presentation (oral or poster). The author can state his/her preference for the type of presentation. However, the final decision is with the Conference Scientific Committee.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts.

Selected authors will be encouraged to prepare the full-text of their abstracts with the intention to be published in the International Journal of Public Health or journal from the Scopus database - Acta Gymnica. Selected Czech authors will be encouraged to prepare the full-text for publication within the Czech journal Tělesná kultura.
As soon as the conference program will be ready, participants will also be able to read the abstracts on the conference website.
